Detailed Narrative Description of Project: Feasibility study is an analysis that takes all of a project relevant factor into account including social, technological, economic, environmental/ethical, legal, internal, and external considerations to ascertain the likelihood of completing and sustaining the project successfully. In this case, it is indispensable to study the feasibility of the Project entitled “Feasibility Study for Maintenance & Renovation of Mymensingh District Shilpakala Academy’. Specific Objectives: To explore the feasible options for the Maintenance & Renovation of Mymensingh District Shilpakala Academy. To assess the sizeable benefits of delivering training and learning to the students. Notably, it is useful to conduct feasibility studies to discern the pros and cons of undertaking these projects before investing a lot of time, money, and human resources into it. A Team of experts from SOMZ Consultants made a thorough review of the TOR to have a good understanding of the tasks to be performed. The Team developed study tools after a complete review of related documents and extensive discussion with BSA officials. The following instruments were used for collection of information: Questionnaire for key informant interview (KII). Checklist for collection of data/information from secondary sources A three-day training course for the Research Assistants was organized to provide training to the research assistants on keeping the uniformity of data collection techniques and approaches and maintaining the desired quality of data. The first day was a theory demonstration of the collection of information followed by one day of practical training in the field for pre-testing and sharing experiences with each other and experts, and one day was for review. Apart from the foundation lectures on how to fill in the questionnaire and collect, enter, and send data through an online system, group discussions, role-playing in the classroom, and question-and-answer sessions were arranged. Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by our Staff: The objective of the assignment was to prepare a Feasibility Study on the project entitled ‘Maintenance &Renovation of Mymensingh District Shilpakala Academy’ The project scope was analyzed to identify physical limits. Then, a feasibility study was conducted, including technical, managerial, economic, financial, cultural, political, and environmental feasibilities with engineering estimates for the preparation of the draft development project proposal (DPP) on ‘Maintenance & Renovation of Mymensingh District Shilpakala Academy’. Data were gathered through brainstorming, interviews, FGDs, questionnaires, and surveys, and some national documents were reviewed (8th Five Year Plan, Perspective Plan (2021-41), Bangladesh Constitution, and Historical Speech delivered on the 7th March of 1971 by the Father of the Nation). The findings of the feasibility report show that the Greater Mymensingh area has born a rich cultural heritage for a long time. Though Muktagancha is a part of Mymensingh district, it was a center of cultural activities and fine arts. There is a Fine Art Gallery in Mymensingh in the name of the Great Cultural Personality, Zoynul Abedin. The proposed project ‘Maintenance & Renovation of Mymensingh District Shilpakala Academy’ was found to be viable and recommended in the final Feasibility report. | ||
Findings of the Project: Findings of the feasibility report show that the Greater Mymensingh area bears a rich cultural heritage since a long time. There is a Fine Art Gallery in Mymensingh in the name of the Great Cultural Personality, Zoynul Abedin.
